The Moon is in Gemini right now. She next enters Aries on October 23 at 7:53 PM and leaves for Taurus on October 25 at 11:34 PM.
The Moon in Aries strikes the match before she has decided what to light.
The Moon is in Aries from October 23 at 7:53 PM until October 25 at 11:34 PM, when she enters Taurus. Aries is the first sign, cardinal fire, ruled by Mars, and the Moon does not sit easily in it: she is the most receptive body in the sky set down in the least patient of the signs. Astrologers read these two and a half days as a season of appetite and nerve. Feeling arrives as impulse, patience runs short, and the body wants to move before the mind has finished its sentence. It is the Moon for beginning something and for the courage a beginning takes, and the tradition warns only that what is started in heat may need to be finished in some cooler sign.
